DIXIE STAMPEDE ANNOUNCES STEVE HELTON BENEFIT SHOW

Proceeds to help defray injured police officer’s medical expenses

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—Area residents and guests can help defray the medical expenses of Pigeon Forge Police Lieutenant Steve Helton by purchasing discounted tickets to the 8:30 p.m. performance on Sept. 13 of Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede.  Tickets for the show are $19.99 (plus tax) for adults and $11 (plus tax) for children ages 4-11.

All proceeds from the admission tickets to this performance will be donated to Helton, who has been with the Pigeon Forge Police Department for nearly 20 years.  Helton was riding his personal motorcycle on Aug. 29 when he was involved in a traffic accident.  He remains in critical condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

“For 20 years, Steve has dedicated himself to making Pigeon Forge a safer place for our guests and residents,” said General Manager Jamie Parish.  “Dixie Stampede wants to help the community support the Helton family by defraying his medical costs with this special performance.”

With a seating capacity of 1,000, Dixie Stampede officials anticipate at least $15,000 in proceeds from the show.

Bluegrass artist and local favorite Jimbo Whaley will make a special appearance during the Carriage Room pre-show.  Whaley will perform along with Dixie Stampede’s house band and opening act Wild Oats in the Carriage Room beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased via phone by calling 1-865-453-4400 or 1-800-356-1676 or at the Dixie Stampede box office.

Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year in Pigeon Forge, is a unique dinner and show experience set in an 85,000-square-foot facility featuring 32 magnificent horses, dozens of cast members, live buffalo, ostrich races, illusions, music and more.  With seating to accommodate 1,000 guests, the show is highlighted by a four-course meal.  Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede dinner and show operates in four locations:  Pigeon Forge, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Branson, Mo., and Orlando, Fla.  For more information, call 1-800-356-1676.
